In addition to representing athletes such as Tyler Armstrong, Mike also practices in both the civil litigation and transactional areas. During several years spent in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Ballentine worked his way up from summer intern to Deputy Attorney General for the state, where he prosecuted violent crimes including capital murder, murder, and manslaughter. At the same time, Mr. Ballentine was also prosecuting federal gun crimes as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. While juggling both positions, he garnered substantial experience in all aspects of litigation including preparing and delivering opening statements and closing arguments, direct examinations, discovery, motions practice, oral arguments, trial tactics, and jury selection.
Mr. Ballentine does his best to maintain a balance in his life, engaging in a wide range of interests outside of his legal duties, including sports, creative writing, reading and spending time with his wife, Joy, friends and family.
Dr. Barry Byrne is a Pediatric Cardiologist clinician and Associate chair of the Congenital Heart Center at UF. He is a professor in pediatrics and molecular genetics and is currently the director of the University of Florida Powell Gene Therapy Center. His research is aimed to help those affected by genetic muscular diseases and he is currently the PI on multiple clinical trials for this effort. His primary involvement lies with disorders such as Pompe, Barth, muscular dystrophy, and the associated cardiomyopathy of these diseases. Dr. Byrne obtained his B.S. from Denison University in Ohio, his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. He was an Assistant Professor at Hopkins after completing his training before coming to the University of Florida in 1997.

Sensei Julie Cameron is the chief instructor at CrossFire Crosstraining Centers. She received her Black Belt from Martial Arts International in 2002 and eventually earned her spot as supervising instructor at MAI and UMAC. After her ten-year career as a supervisor, Sensei Cameron decided it was time for a change of scenery and started CrossFire Crosstraining Centers where she was could focus on her two main passions, Krav Maga and Fitness. In addition to teaching, Sensei Cameron is a regular contributor to Idea Fitness and NASM online. She is certified through Krav Maga World Wide.
